SEND Learning Support Assistant
Required September 2026

Start Date:
3rd September 2026

Grade: Level 4, ranging from points 6 to 7 

Salary: £7,033.36 - £7,145.40 per annum (Actual salary & April 2026 pay award pending)

Hours: 12 hours per week, Thursday & Fridays, 8.30am – 3.00pm, term time only. 

 

About the Role

Are you an excellent and experienced Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs?
 

We are seeking an enthusiastic, empathetic, and positive individual with experience in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The ideal candidate will be confident in meeting a range of individual needs and committed to providing high-quality support that enables every child to thrive.
 

The successful applicant will be highly motivated, proactive, and an effective team player with strong communication skills. A genuine commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice is essential. Experience working with children with complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), would be highly advantageous.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of individualised support plans (ISPs)
  • Support the child in accessing the curriculum and classroom activities
  • Help the child develop social and communication skills
  • Support personal care needs
  • Monitor and record the child’s progress and behaviour
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents and other professionals to ensure the child’s needs are met
  • GCSE qualification in Maths and English or equivalent is essential.

  • A warm, patient, and positive approach
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child wellbeing
  • Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with young children with additional needs (SEND)

Job Title: Tea Time Club Leader (Early Years Foundation Stage 3 - 5years)
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 2.45pm – 5.45pm (Term Time Only)

Grade: Level 5, SCP 8 - 12
Salary: £7,259.34 - £7,739.43 per annum (actual salary)

Closing Date: 18th June 2026 at midnight
 

About the Role
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Tea Time Club Leader to supervise and engage children aged 3 - 5 (Nursery and Reception) during our after school Tea Time Club. This role involves creating a safe, calm, and enjoyable end of day environment where children can relax, eat, and participate in simple activities before being collected by parents or carers.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and care for Nursery and EYFS children from 2.45pm – 5.45pm
  • Serve light tea/snacks and encourage good table manners
  • Organise calm, age-appropriate activities (stories, crafts, games, quiet play)
  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and happiness of all children
  • Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times
  • Communicate with parents/carers at collection time
  • Work collaboratively with school/nursery staff
     

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
 

  • Experience working with young children (Nursery, EYFS, childcare, or similar)
  • Level 3 qualification in Nursery Nursing / Early Years Childcare (Essential)
  • A warm, patient, and positive approach
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child wellbeing
