Online Safety

This page holds a range of links to support websites and wider information about navigating the online world with your child. We firmly believe that buildng trust and an open dialogue between parents and children establishes the foundations needed to support everyone through the journey of the onlie world.

The digital world is ever changing, and the second we learn something new about how to protect our children and keep them safe online, it feels like our knowledge becomes out of date.

As part of our learning across the curriculum, we educate our children from the start of their school journey, to be safe online. We teach explicit lessons and assemblies where we discuss what online safety is and what the potential risks might be at an age appropriate level. We also start each computing session with an online safety discussion and by looking at our acceptable use agreement with the children.

But it doesn’t stop there. As educators we have a duty to remain up to date with the potential risks to children in the online world and to support you, as parents, to help protect your children too.

We regularly contact you about current online safety issues and specific apps and we send through useful information on how to ensure your settings are in place and how to learn about the online world ‘with’ your child. Let’s face it, we spend longer and longer in cyber space and spending time on screen is a big part of our lives.
