Geography

Interest, fascination and connections - We will inspire pupils with a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people and a desire to discover more by comparing and contrasting locations
Inquire and investigate  - Children will interpret a range of sources to help them find out about the world
Respect and responsibility  - In an ecologically changing world children will develop a sense of responsibility as part of a community, as well as a their role as a global citizen

We aim to inspire curiosity and a fascination about the world we live in. We learn about our locality through first hand experiences and fieldwork activities as well as photographs and maps. Children develop a sense of place by learning about the rest of the UK and the wider world. Geography teaching is enhanced by ‘Where in the world is ... [the class mascot]?’ sessions where children regularly explore an area of interest, somewhere in the news or somewhere linked to our cultural heritage.
