Chalkwell Hall

Infant School

Letter from Mrs Clements - COVID19 5th November 2020

Thursday 5th November 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

So here we are again! As England begins the second lockdown, I thought I would take the opportunity to explain what that means for your child and for the school community.

Firstly, it’s important to state that Chalkwell Hall Infant school will continue to do all we can to remain open for all pupils. Our risk assessment is constantly being revised and updated in line with the latest guidance from Public Health England, the Local Authority and the Department for Education, a copy can be seen here https://www.chalkwellhallinfants.co.uk/school-opening-details/

Secondly, huge thanks to you all for doing your bit to keep our community safe, and as a result the school operational. Continue wearing a face covering whilst on the school grounds, observing social distancing, respecting the one way system and dropping off and collecting your child at the correct times. Please also continue to follow the guidance on what to do if someone in your household displays Coronavirus symptoms and to keep us informed, more information can be found here https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/

If we do have a positive case within school, we will follow the advice of the Department for Education and will continue to communicate honestly with you.

The vast majority of children must attend school during this second lockdown, attendance is mandatory for most pupils. A small number of children, those identified as clinically, extremely vulnerable, should not attend school. If you believe your child falls into this category, you should get written confirmation from your GP. These children will be given access to our remote learning package. Children who live with a person who is identified as either clinically vulnerable or clinically, extremely vulnerable should continue to come to school.

I am so grateful for your continued support and cooperation, we will continue to work together to ensure our school remains safe, happy and makes us all proud.

Keep safe
