Chalkwell Hall

Infant School

Clubs\Child care provision

Learning is not restricted to just the classroom in our school.  We are proud to be able to provide a vast array of clubs before school, during the school day as well as after school to promote enriched experiences for our pupils.  Some of these include: orchestra, choir, karate, football, dance, debating and even French club! Some are provided by staff and others are run by outside agencies and have a cost implication.  If you would like to find out more about the clubs we have an offer, please speak to the school office.

EXTENDED SCHOOLS

Clubs for children both before and after school

Introduction

Conkers Breakfast Club opened in January 2009, with the Conkers After School Club opening in September 2009. The clubs provide before and after school care for a number of children on a regular basis.

The number of children attending Conkers Clubs has risen steadily and both clubs are regularly fully booked.

The Breakfast and After School Clubs can now cater for up to 80 children and offer facilities and activities for 4 to 11 year olds.

The clubs have exclusive use of the school dining hall, the library and have access to the playground in fair weather, with outdoor play equipment and apparatus, as well as a wide range of indoor equipment and facilities.

From January 2018 bookings will need to be made through the following system: KidsClubHQ.

The link to get started creating your account and requesting a contract is here: https://chalkwellhall.kidsclubhq.co.uk/rdr?u=home

Payment for the clubs can be made on line through SIMs Agora for parents of Junior children.  Parents of Infant children will need to pay by cheque, made payable to Chalkwell Hall Junior School, or with cash.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club runs from 7.30am to 8.35am during term time and provides a choice of breakfast for the children which includes: toast with a variety of toppings, a variety of cereals and a drink.

The Breakfast Club follows a fairly structured yet flexible plan which provides an opportunity for children to socialise and play before school whilst also providing them with breakfast.

Children have access to a range of resources, including art and craft, construction toys, dressing up, board games, computer games and DVDs.

After School Club

The After School Club runs from 3.00pm to 6.00pm and provides a snack for children after school, choices are: toasted sandwiches with a variety of fillings, crumpets, tea cakes, etc., and a drink.

The After School Club offers structured yet flexible play, with the opportunity for pupils to work on their homework if they wish to do so.

Many resources are available for the children, for example, arts and crafts, games, table tennis, Wii, DVDs, books, construction toys and cooking. Children are also able to play football and netball in the playground and play on the play equipment.

The club also has access to the ICT Suite in the Junior School.
