Learning is not restricted to just the classroom in our school. We are proud to be able to provide a vast array of clubs before school, during the school day as well as after school to promote enriched experiences for our pupils. Some of these include: orchestra, choir, karate, football, dance, debating and even French club! Some are provided by staff and others are run by outside agencies and have a cost implication. Breakfast and After school clubs
Conkers Breakfast Club and Conkers After School Club provide before school and after school care for a number of children on a regular basis.
The number of children attending both Conkers Clubs has risen steadily and both clubs are thriving and continue to grow.
The Breakfast and After School Clubs can cater for up to 60 children and offer facilities and activities for 4 to 11 year olds.
The clubs have exclusive use of the school dining hall and have access to the playground in fair weather, with outdoor play equipment and apparatus, as well as a wide range of indoor equipment and facilities.
Breakfast Club runs from 7.30am to 8.35am during term time and provides a choice of breakfast for the children which includes:toast with a variety of toppings, a variety of cereals and a drink.
The Breakfast Club follows a fairly structured yet flexible plan which provides an
opportunity for children to socialise and playbefore school whilst also providing them with breakfast.
Children have access to a range of resources, including art and craft, construction toys, make believe play, board games, computer games and DVDs.
Children attending the Breakfast Club should be dropped off at the Rockleigh Avenue entrance.

After School Club
The After School Club runs from 3.00pm to 6.00pm and provides a snack for children after school, choices are: toast, sandwiches with a variety of fillings, crumpets, fruit bread, etc., and a drink.
The After School Club offers structured yet flexible play, with the opportunity for pupils to work on their homework if they wish to do so.
Many resources are available for the children, for example, arts and crafts, games, table tennis, Wii, DVDs, books, construction toys and cooking. Children are also able to play football and netball in
the playground and use the outdoor play equipment.
Children who have attended the After School Club should be collected from the Rockleigh Avenue entrance.
The Conkers Clubs provide a fun and stimulating environment for all children aged between 4 and 11 between 7.30am and 6.00pm, in term time. Conkers Clubs provide surroundings which ensure its children are cared for and educated in a healthy, safe and secure environment.

The school is happy to accept Child Care Vouchers. Please make payment in advance for sessions booked. If cancellations are made before 12.00pm on the day of the booking no fee will be incurred.
Both clubs are only able to accept 60 bookings per day due to health and safety reasons.

Mrs Wilkinson runs the choir with the help of Mrs Palmer and Mrs Corrigan. Children from year 1 and 2 can join. They meet on a Wednesday lunch time (more frequently coming to performances). The Choir take part in many concerts and events, both in school and in the local community. Choir is an important part of our school and local community.
Our football club is run by Southend United and is held on a Thursday after school. Children from year 1 and 2 are invited to join the club. For more information please contact the school office.
French club is held on Thursdays after school for years 1 and 2. Madam Sophie runs the club. If you would like more information on this club, please contact the school office.
Bright Stars Club
Bright Stars Club (formerly homework club) is after school every evening. Children are invited to this club, it is held in our ICT suite. Our LSAs run the club. The children have an opportunity to take part in exciting creative activities such as cooking and art and craft each day.
The ICT club is an informal drop-in session (Tuesdays to Fridays) where pupils are allowed to access the ICT suite computers at lunchtime. Places are free and open to all pupils but are given on a first-come first-served basis as we only have about 30 seats.
We are running a netball skills club for Year 1 and Year 2 children on a Friday after school until 4.15pm. There is a small cost of £2 per week. Please ensure that netball players have their earrings removed on Fridays. Mrs Elliott will be running the club and looks forward to meeting you there.
Dance Club starts on Friday 18th November after school until 4.15pm. It is run by an outside agency called Reward Fitness. Club is open to Year 1 and Year 2 pupils. 30 places are available. Please return your permission slip via your child's book bag. A waiting list will be held by the infant office if the club is full. Young Carers Club
This club is open to children from the Infants and the Juniors and is held on after school on Thursdays. A combination of Mrs Bower, Mrs Graham, Mrs Johnson and Mrs Isle will take the club. The venue will change depending on the activity. Children can be collected at 4.15pm.
Mrs Bower and Mrs Clements take the Orchestra club in the Small Hall on a Monday lunch time. The children are invited to join the club.
Speech and Drama
Speech and drama lessons are available to all children from year 1 and year 2. The lessons are held on a Monday and Tuesday lunch time in class France and Spain with Milly Blackstone. If you would like your child to attend please contact the school office.
Yoga Club takes place on Wednesdays after school. Natalie Claxton takes the club in the small hall.
Tag Rugby Club
Tag Rugby is held on a Tuesday after school and is open to children from Year 1 and Year 2. The children play rugby in the playground and afterwards can be collected from the Infant School entrance at 4.15pm
Shirley Potter runs our ukulele club on a Wednesday after school. This club is for year 2 children, children may join this club at the start of the academic year.
